We play at Cranage and our normal home games are a Wednesday afternoon starting at 2:00 pm. Our captain is Deirdre Thompson. The fixtures are not available yet.
Fun Bowls
Tuesday 6th September started very wet and so the Fun Bowls Day was delayed at 11am. After inspection it was decided it was safe to start as the green was not slippy although very wet. It turned out a warm day and the sun shone so it was hard to imagine it had been so wet.
It was a good day and well organised by Swettenham WI with lovely cakes too. Valerie McArdle and Alison from Swettenham WI got to the semi-finals, but the winners of the trophy were Mary from North Rode WI and Liz from Smallwood WI after beating our very own Deirdre and Anita, from Astbury WI.
Well done ladies.

CFWI Fun Day
On 7th May bowlers from all over Cheshire entered the pairs competition which took place at Lostock Social Club. Valerie was partnered with Eva from Macclesfield WI; Mamie with Kris; Deirdre with Brenda from Malton WI and lastly Vera who played with Jane from Whitegate WI. Well done to Vera and Jane who were runners up. Looking at the pictures it certainly wasn't as cold as last year.

Fun Day
Holmes Chapel WI hosted this year's Dane Valley Bowls Fun Day on Wednesday 23rd September, this was the first time in 12 years. The weather stayed dry for us and our cakes were well received. It was a long day for those taking part, especially the ones who kept winning. Our very own Deirdre and her partner Margaret from North Rode won the Jean Batchelor Shield. Well done ladies.
